Precious Stones & Associated Minerals

Eastern Desert & Red Sea

The Eastern Desert supplied the ancient world with emerald, peridot and amethyst, and the same systems that host gold host copper, zinc and silver. A reconnaissance review is mapping where these associated minerals add value alongside the gold programme.

The company’s registered scope explicitly covers precious stones and the minerals associated with gold, and the Eastern Desert has a record in both: the emerald mines of Wadi Sikait supplied the Roman world, Zabargad Island was the ancient source of peridot, and the Shield’s volcanogenic and vein-hosted systems carry copper, zinc and silver alongside gold.

Current work

A reconnaissance-level compilation of published mapping, historic records and satellite data, run in parallel with gold target generation so that both are assessed on the same ground at the same time.
